Live Theatre, in partnership with CHATS Productions Inc., proudly presents Jane Eyre — a bold new stage adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s classic. This local reimagining, adapted and directed by Emma Watson, brings Jane’s defiance, independence, and quiet strength to life with a fresh theatrical vision.
Jane Eyre
This ensemble-based production seeks a collaborative, flexible cast to bring Jane Eyre to life. Ensemble members will play multiple roles, shape atmosphere through movement and voice, and drive the story’s emotional rhythm. We’re looking for generous, adventurous actors who work well physically, vocally, and as a team—commitment, creativity, and a spirit of play are essential.

Auditions for Jane Eyre are open to everyone, whether you're a seasoned performer or trying the stage for the first time. We’re looking for passionate individuals ready to bring this bold adaptation to life with heart, creativity, and courage.

Rehearsals will be a collaborative and supportive environment, focused on building strong characters, ensemble connection, and theatrical confidence. They’ll run over 9 weeks - from 18 Jan to 5 April, with a mix of scene work, movement, and technical preparation to ensure every voice shines.
Our production of Jane Eyre will celebrate local talent, innovative storytelling, and the magic of live performance. With beautiful staging, evocative design, and a cast drawn from our own community, this will be a powerful launch for Live Theatre’s first major work.
Performances will be March 27 - 5 Aprill.
The Cast of Jane Eyre
1. Jane Eyre (Lead Female, 30+)
Jane is intelligent, strong-willed, and quietly rebellious, with a deep moral compass and a yearning for love, purpose, and autonomy. As both the protagonist and the lens through which the story unfolds, Jane shapes the rhythm and perspective of the piece.This is a demanding lead role: Jane does not leave the stage. The actor must be confident, reliable, and highly secure with lines, as they are responsible for carrying the story, directing its pace, and anchoring the emotional journey for the audience. Experience in lead dramatic roles including classic literature is recommended. Read the Audition Pack here. 2. Ensemble (9 roles, multiple ages/genders)
The ensemble brings the world of Jane Eyre to life, portraying more than 50 characters — from Mrs. Reed and Helen Burns to Rochester, Bertha Mason, and beyond. Casting is fluid and imaginative, with roles unconstrained by age, gender, or type. We seek adaptable performers who can shift quickly between characters, embrace creative transformation, and help shape the atmosphere and emotional journey of Jane’s story.
