National One-Act Playwriting Competition 2011

Entries are now being called for the 2011 National One-Act Playwriting Competition.

Entries close, Monday 15th November 2010.


Best Play wins $2500 and winner of the
Audience Choice Award wins a
publishing contract.
Total Prize Pool of $5000.

Now in it's 34th year, the Noosa Arts Theatre National One-Act Playwriting Competition attracts entries from playwrights right throughout Australia, and offers a total Prize pool of $5,000, and a Publishing Contract.
 
This playwriting competition offers a unique opportunity for the winning Playwrights to see their new work performed on stage at Noosa Arts One-Act Play Festival, over 2 weeks each June as part of the
Noosa Longweekend.

Offering a total prize pool of $5000, the winner of Best Play will take home a prize of $2,500.
 
During the seven days of the Festival, the audience are asked each night to vote for the
Audience Choice Award', with prize money (donated by the family of the late Nancy Cato)
plus a publishing contract for their winning script, with our sponsor
Maverick Musicals & Plays.   
 
Presentations of Awards take place on the final night. 
 
The Competition and Festival are proudly supported by MACQUARIE PRIVATE WEALTH,
Maverick Musicals & Plays and the Sunshine Coast Council.

Acting Classes – Noosa Arts Theatre Conducted by Johanna Wallace

Children’s Classes
Children on Monday 4-5pm

The children's class is full of energy and enthusiasm and are working towards an end of year performance of both "The Queen's Breakfast" by A.A. Milne and "Where the Wild Things Are," by Maurice Sendak.

Teenager’s Classes
Tuesday from 4:30-6:00

The teens are busy workshopping and writing their own self devised performance titled, "Rumors," a piece that looks at contemporary school life and peer pressure.  Four of Johanna's teenaged students, Edward Manning, Andre Butterworth, Ebony Hamaceck and Darcy Hynes, are currently hard at work rehearsing for "Cinderella" which Johanna is directing for Noosa Arts Theatre.

The children and teenage classes are booked on a term basis (usually ten lessons).
Cost is $150 per term and we follow the school calendar.

Adult Classes
Monday 5:30-7pm

And the adult class
continues to flex their acting muscles on a Monday night as they focus on improvisation and scene work. 
The adult class costs $15 per 90 minute class.
