Youth Theatre's across the Sunshine Coast.
They are listed below in alphabetical order.
This is a great stepping stone for any child, interesting in acting,
to explore the world of theatre, and work with adults with a great deal of experience,
who are willing to share their knowledge, and pass on many valuable stage craft skills.
And it is lots of fun too!

Maleny Players Youth Theatre
TEEN DRAMA CLASSES TO START AGAIN
Now into their third year, the popular MYTE (Maleny Youth Theatre
Ensemble) classes run by the Maleny Players, (for ages 14 – 20) are set
to recommence on Friday 13th February at 4.30pm.
The Players are delighted to introduce drama specialist, Ali Enticott,
a qualified lecturer in Drama, Acting and the Performing Arts, recently
settled on the Sunshine Coast from the U.K.
Co-ordinator of the youth drama classes, Gail Denver, says “Ali is a
dedicated and innovative teacher, who understands this age group’s
desire to learn through drama. Her classes will be using drama as a
tool to encourage confidence and enjoyment as well as developing acting
skills.” A registration form is required to join the class.

Children’s
Classes
- Monday 4-5pm
The
children's class is full of energy and enthusiasm and are working towards an
end of year performance of both "The Queen's Breakfast" by A.A. Milne
and "Where the Wild Things Are," by Maurice Sendak.
Teenager’s
Classes
- Tuesday
from 4:30-6:00
The
teens are busy workshopping and writing their own self devised performance
titled, "Rumors," a piece that looks at contemporary school life and
peer pressure. Four of Johanna's teenaged students, Edward Manning, Andre
Butterworth, Ebony Hamaceck and Darcy Hynes, are currently hard at work
rehearsing for "Cinderella" which Johanna is directing for Noosa Arts
Theatre.
The
children and teenage classes are booked on a term basis (usually ten lessons).
Cost
is $150 per term and we follow the school calendar.
Adult
Classes
- Monday 5:30-7pm
And
the adult class continues to flex their acting muscles on a Monday night
as they focus on improvisation and scene work. Leona Kirby, a long term student
has recently shone on stages across the SE Queensland, in Frank Wilkie's play,
"Good Grief."
The
adult class costs $15 per 90 minute class.
